Cora Mikesell Baker

TOLEDO -- Cora Mikesell Baker, age 96, formerly of Toledo, died at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at her daughter's residence. She was born October 7, 1913 in Darke County, OH. She was the third of 11 children born to the late Bert and Treva (Lantz) Mikesell. Cora was a 1934 graduate of Women's and Children's Hospital (now Riverside Hospital) in Toledo. She then worked as an RN private duty nurse. She told her family about caring for a farmer's wife and newborn child. The farmer had to sell a pig to pay for her nursing care.
On March 28, 1942, she married Louis H. Baker and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Gene) Greer of Toledo and LouAnn (Roy) Cousino of Findlay; grandchildren: Melissa Cousino, Daniel (Kim) Cousino and David (Lisa Lewandowski) Greer. Also surviving her are brothers, Robert (Kathryn), Russell (Doris), and John Mikesell. Two sisters and five brothers preceded her in death. Also surviving are: sisters in-law: Christine, Moleta and Shirley Mikesell along with many nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was a lifelong member of Hampton Park Christian Church, Toledo and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Cora and Louie were active members of Toledo, state and national Wally Byam Airstream Clubs. They traveled extensively with the club and attended many rallies.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where visitation will be from 3:30-6:30 p.m.
Chaplain Meg Knape officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at Hollansburg Cemetery, Darke County, OH with Pastor Joe Hannah officiating.

Robert Grant

Robert H. Grant, 90, of Findlay, died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. Further arrangements are pending at the funeral home.

Janice Ann Rose Jones

Janice Ann Rose Jones passed away on July 17, 2010 at her home in San Juan Capistrano, California of complications from diabetes.
She was born in Toledo, OH on May 24, 1947, the daughter of Marilyn E. Rose and Francis Rose. Raised in Findlay, OH, she became interested in becoming a teacher and after graduating from Bowling Green State University she left for California.
Janice loved teaching and the challenge of getting all her students ready to do well in school. She also liked to work in her yard, read everything while she got her hands on and attending art gallery exhibitions with her friends.
On July 16, 1989 she married Franklin Jones and he survives. Also surviving are: Mother-Marilyn of Findlay, OH and Naples, FL; Sister-Sandra Snyder of Findlay, OH; Brother-Michael Rose of Naples, FL; Nephew-Eric Snyder of Findlay, OH; Aunts-Mary Alice Herdman of Findlay, OH; Karis (Glen) Goodrich of OH; Uncle-Joseph Spogis of Bozeman, MT; Cousins-Debbie (Clark) Dennis of Oswego, IL; Cathy (John) Mulligan; Bill Herdman of Findlay, OH; Kirk (Julie) Woodrich of Naples, MA; Carol (Howard) Burgerud of Denver, CO; Fred (Sharon) Rose of Grand Rapids, OH; Robert Rose of Toledo, OH; James Rose of Curtis, OH; Janet Rose of Toledo, OH; Caris (Donald) Eisel of Berkley, OH; Larma Smard of Bozeman, MT; and Christopher Spogis of Bozeman, MT.

Judith Ann Schroeder

Judith Ann Schroeder, age 68, formerly of Findlay, died at 1:13 p.m., Tuesday at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1942 in Lima, Ohio to Virgil J. and Rosemary (Schroeder) Schroeder and her father survives in Findlay. She had formerly been a secretary at St. Michael's Rectory and she is a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
She is also survived by two brothers: James L. (Joanne E.) Schroeder of Upper Sandusky and Michael J. (Lori A.) Schroeder of Waterville, Ohio.
She also has three sisters: Marilyn K. (David) Gidick of Greensburg, Pa., Barbara J. (John) Wagner of Custar, Ohio and Elizabeth Ann (Kevin) Fitzpatrick of Springfield, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with the rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at St Michael Catholic Church Downtown with Fr. Shaji Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Michael School in her memory. Online condolences may be offered at www.coldrencrates.com.

Afton Twining

FOSTORIA -- A funeral for Afton E. Twining, 93, of Fostoria, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Robert Chew officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, west of Arcadia.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Twining died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at Independence House, Fostoria.
Surviving are a foster daughter, Eilene Rowe, Hot Springs, Ark.; and a sister, Eleanor Zeitler, Ida, Mich.
Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, Fostoria.

Anna Wohlgamuth

CAREY -- Anna Maude Wohlgamuth, 91, of Carey, died at 6:54 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at her residence.
Surviving are five daughters, Brenda Wohlgamuth, Findlay; Rose Mary Wohlgamuth and Marie Plott, both of Carey; Mrs. Larry (Vickie Jean) Shearer, Avery, Texas; and Ann Fairchild, Staffordsville, Texas; and two sisters, Garnita Schnitzler, Fostoria; and June Sager, Arlington.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, the Rev. Phillip Littlejohn officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, 43316.
