Dale Bennett

FOSTORIA -- Dale Warren Bennett, 85, of Fostoria, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Brenda Kay) Kramb, Fostoria; and Mrs. Stephan (Janet Sue) Kuhn, Tiffin; and a sister, Lois Forbes, Deshler.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Knollcrest Cemetery Chapel, Arcadia, the Rev. Larry Knigga officiating. Military honors will be by United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, and one half hour before the funeral Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Vera I. Gaertner

Vera I. Gaertner, 93, of Findlay, is also survived by a sister, Bertha Brooks of Fostoria.
Two brothers, Johnny and Harold Danniels along with four sisters, Betty and Bernice Danniels, Maxine Huffman and Inez Haynes also preceded her in death.

A. Sidney Hoover

A. Sidney Hoover, age 91, of 600 Fox Run Road, Findlay, passed away at 10:03 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on October 11, 1918 to the late Wilford and Florence (Tibbals) Hoover in Akron, Ohio. He was raised in Findlay by Bernice Vossler. He married Mary V. Murphy on December 14, 1946 and she preceded him in death on December 7, 1974.
He is survived by three daughters: Mary Frances (David) Fleming of Findlay, Elizabeth Ann (Richard) Stanley of Lancaster, and Holly Clare (Robert) Zorz of Perrysburg; a brother: Jerry Vossler of Findlay; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Patricia Vossler; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two sons: John and Thomas S. Hoover; a brother: Thomas Vossler; and three sisters: Jean Steiner, Doris Wineland, and Nancy Laird.
After High School he joined the United States Navy, where he served his country from January 5, 1942 to November 28, 1945. He graduated from The Ohio State University, with a bachelors degree in Dairy Technology. Sid worked for the Marathon Oil Company and retired on June 1, 1982 after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Elks, DAV (Disabled American Veterans), the American Legion, and the First Lutheran Church. He was a devoted family man, who was a music lover, as well as an avid rose gardener, and an outdoorsman; a man who loved being alive. He leaves precious memories with the many friends, with whom he shared lots of laughter and with his adoring family.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday February 13, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, with Pastor Bob Cochran officiating. A private interment will be held in Knollcrest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in his memory to the First Lutheran Church.

Richard Lee Huntington

Richard Lee Huntington, 84, of Van Buren, died at 12:15 a.m., Sunday, February 7, 2010 at his residence. He was born on June 3, 1925, in Allen Township, to the late Samuel R. and Mabel (Peffley) Huntington. He married Shirley Ann Roberts in 1954, and she preceded him in death in 1959. He later married Ruth Ellen Harter on July 17, 1966, and she survives.
Also surviving are his daughters: Sara (Patrick) Kilker of Tampa, FL, Deborah (Laurence) Smith of Groveland, FL and Rebecca Huntington of Lansing, MI; grandchildren: Daniel Huntington, Melanie Smith, Kenneth Smith, Marcus Smith and Maurie Smith; great-grandchildren: Kirsten Danielle Olea, Nadia Alexis Huntington, Logan Smith and Laurence Chase Smith.
Richard was a retired Chemical Engineer, having worked for the Environmental Protection Agency and Cooper Tire and Rubber Company. He was a graduate of Van Buren High School and The Ohio State University, where he received his masters degrees in Chemical Engineering. He was a Certified Professional Engineer and had taught students at both Penta Technical College and Bowling Green State University. He held numerous patents.
He was a member of the Van Buren Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge, and a life member the Huntington Family Association.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Dr. James Friedmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Bechtel Cemetery, Allen Township.
Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m., Friday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Van Buren Presbyterian Church, in his memory.

Ray W. Riggenbach

COLUMBUS GROVE -- Ray W. Riggenbach, 84, of Columbus Grove, died at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Putnam Acres, Ottawa.
Ray was born on January 17, 1926 in Columbus Grove to William and Nellie Core Riggenbach. He married Rotha Dauber on August 5, 1946, and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Gene) Leatherman, Findlay; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Thad) Dempster; a grandson, Michael (Teresa) Leatherman; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death is a sister, Alice Link.
Ray was retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad as a fireman and engineer. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.
There will be no services or visitation.
Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton is handling the arrangements.

FOSTORIA -- Gail Smith, 59, of Fostoria, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at her residence.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas E.; three daughters, Mrs. Wes (Rachel) Tackett, Sarah Smith and Lee Ann Smith, all of Fostoria; and four brothers, Alan Kibbe, North Fort Myers, Fla.; Roy Kibbe, St. James City, Fla.; Hank and Cliff "Bud" Kibbe, both of Cape Coral, Fla.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Donald Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Bridge Hospice.

Jeanne Walters

FOSTORIA -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanne E. Walters, 79, of Fostoria, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with a rosary recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Sand Ridge Cemetery, Bascom.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with a Christian wake service at 3:45 p.m.
Mrs. Walters died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Independence House, Fostoria.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene; three daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Jacki) Way, Toledo; Mrs. Tim (Vicki) Sulken, Fostoria; and Mrs. Mark (Kelli) Gilliland, Risingsun; a son, Bradley of Pickerington; and a sister, Joanne Ardner, Tulsa, Okla.
Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice or the church.
