Boys Basketball: Columbus Grove upends unbeaten Continental

COLUMBUS GROVE -- Columbus Grove's fourth-quarter rally sent the game into overtime and the Bulldogs took care of business from there, beating second-ranked and unbeaten Continental 43-40 in a Putnam County League boys basketball game Saturday night.

With the win, Columbus Grove improved to 12-3 overall and 3-2 in the PCL. Continental, the No. 2 team in the latest Associated Press Division IV poll slipped to 15-1 and 4-1.

Columbus Grove trailed 27-20 after three periods of play before rallying in the final frame to send the game into overtime.

Luke Kohls had a big game for Columbus Grove as he led all scorers with 15 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Colby Meuleman added 11 points and a pair of steals for the Bulldogs.

Chase Ordway led the Pirates with 13 points.

NAPOLEON -- Ottawa-Glandorf still owns Napoleon.

The Titans improved to 10-4 on the season as with a 63-54 win over the Wildcats at the Grand Canyon Saturday night.

Napoleon, which saw its three-game winning streak snapped, hasn't beaten Ottawa-Glandorf since 2000.

Napoleon's Jordan Lauf led all scorers with 25 points while teammate Drew Gerken chipped in 11.

Brian Laubenthal scored 15 points and Travis Schoemaker scored 14 for the Titans.
