NWC Football: Grove keeps on track for playoffs COLUMBUS GROVE -- Columbus Grove rushed for 140 yards and the Bulldogs scored in every quarter in a 22-6 Northwest Conference victory over Paulding.
The win keeps Columbus Grove (5-3, 4-2 NWC) in the thick of the Region 22 playoff race.
Rayce Risser was the top dog for the Bulldogs with 72 yards rushing on 17 carries. He opened the scoring with a 18-yard scamper in the first quarter.
Luke Kohls accounted for the next two scores as he booted a 22-yard field goal and caught an eight-yard third-quarter pass from Jordan Travis.
After Bruce Souder ran 11 yards for a touchdown for Paulding (2-6, 1-5), Jacob Miller took a pass from Travis 47 yards and a score.
Miller accounted for 102 total yards for Columbus Grove.
The Bulldog defense allowed only 166 yards and forced three Paulding fumbles.

BLUFFTON -- Bluffton had a tough time slowing down the Lima Central Catholic offense Friday night.
Michael Rogers ran for three touchdowns and the Thunderbirds rolled up 456 yards in a 48-13 Northwest Conference win over the Pirates at Harmon Field.
Bluffton (3-5, 2-3 NWC) trailed 22-0 at halftime and finished with 296 yards of offense.
Tyler Rayl led the way with 88 yards, 11 of which came on a TD run in the third quarter.
Dakota Bowman caught a 3-yard scoring strike from Joseph Hunter in the fourth.
Rogers scored on runs of 25, 7, and 3 yards for LCC (7-1, 6-0).
Bluffton turned the ball over twice and was just 3-of-10 on third downs.
