NWC Football: Grove notches huge victory COLUMBUS GROVE — For the second week in a row, Columbus Grove notched a huge win as the Bulldogs beat Delphos Jefferson 26-14 Friday night in a key Northwest Conference game.
The win propels the Bulldogs into the thick of the Division VI, Region 22 playoff race.
Wade Heffner scored the last two Columbus Grove (4-3, 3-2 NWC) touchdowns of 17 and 8 yards propelling Columbus Grove to the win.
Jordan Travis threw a rare 33-yard touchdown pass to Colby Meuleman to open the scoring for Columbus Grove.
Mitchell Antalis hauled in a 10-yard pass from Jordan Jettinghoff later in the first quarter as Delphos Jefferson (5-2, 4-2) knotted things up.
Travis then snuck in from three yards away giving the Bulldogs a 13-7 lead. Jettinghoff proceeded to bull in from three yards away giving Jefferson a narrow 14-13 lead.
Heffner answered with a his 17-yard scamper and an eight-yard burst late in the fourth quarter.
Rayce Risser had a solid night for Columbus Grove with 135 yards on 35 carries. Meuleman had three catches for 91 yards.

CONVOY — Heath Jackson rushed for four touchdowns and threw for another and Ada extended its Northwest Conference winning streak to 13 games with a 48-15 thumping of Convoy Crestview Friday night.
Jackson, who rushed for 89 yards on 16 carries, darted in for touchdown runs of 15 and 17 yards in the first quarter.
After a Convoy Crestview (2-4 overall, 1-4 NWC) safety, Jackson connected with Konnor Baker for a seven-yard score.
Tyler Simmons (28 yards) and Jackson (1 yard) then ran for Ada (7-0, 5-0) touchdowns.
Convoy Crestview’s Stephen Semer raced for a 45-yard touchdown cutting Ada’s halftime lead to 34-8.
In the second half, Jackson scooted in from four yards away and Baker tacked on a 31-yard score to cap Ada’s scoring assault.
Jackson finished the night 12-of-18 passing with 140 yards. Alex Weber had five catches for 52 yards.
Ada churned out 418 yards of total offense and held the Knights to only 88 yards.

Clay Atkins scored on a seven-yard carry for Bluffton (3-4, 2-3 NWC). Christian Koch hit field goals for 35 and 19 yards.
Jesse Guadakunst had seven carries for 60 yards for the Pirates. Levi Gleason completed 1-of-2 passes for 35 yards and R.J. Stratton had a reception for 35 yards.
