University of Findlay women's basketball coach Kate Cummings went north to fill out her 2010-2011 recruiting class.
Three of the five prospects the fourth-year coach has signed are out of Michigan.
The out-of-state student-athletes who have chosen the Oilers are Kaleigh Kenny from Clarkston High School in Clarkston, Mich.; Carlay Stahl, who is a standout at L'Anse Creuse High in Harrison Township, Mich.; and Jennifer Kent from Maple Valley High in Nashville, Mich. The other two signees are Saira House of Kenton Ridge High in Springfield, and Karli Beasley from North Adams High in Winchester.
Kenny is a 6-foot-1 guard/forward who averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game during a junior campaign in which she earned Class A all-Michigan honors. Stahl, a 6-2 forward, is a two-time all-conference selection and earned honorable mention all-Michigan laurels last year after averaging 20 points, 13 rebounds, 5 blocks and 3 assists per contest.
A two-time all-Kalamazoo Valley Conference pick, the 6-foot Kent put up 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had 6 blocks, 2 assists and 2 steals per game a year ago.
House joins UF after scoring at a 27-point clip in 2008-2009 and averaging 5.5 assists, 5 steals and 3 rebounds per game. The multi-talented Beasley, a 5-9 guard, averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3 steals en route to being named honorable mention all-Ohio. A three-time all-conference selection, Beasley is also an all-Ohio volleyball player.
