Police Department

A rear window was broken on a Ford Explorer on Saturday at 1836 Woodridge Crescent.

A male was taken into custody Saturday under a Hardin County warrant at 2231 Jennifer Lane, 16. He also was found to be possessing marijuana.

A domestic dispute occurred at an East Lima Street locale Saturday.

Mustard, ketchup and eggs were thrown onto the front of 439 Howard St. on Saturday.

A window was smashed Saturday on a Dodge Caravan at 1101 W. Main Cross St.

A Swing Avenue man was facing a domestic violence charge Sunday for assaulting his girlfriend, who was treated at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

A window was damaged on a Ford Focus on Sunday at 326 Portz Ave.

A Findlay man was charged Sunday with domestic violence after punching a family member at a North Blanchard Street home. The victim required hospital attention. The man also was found to be wanted under a warrant.

A flat screen TV and coins were stolen Sunday from 840 E. Sandusky St.

A hit-skip traffic incident occurred Sunday in the 400 block of North Main Street.

A male reportedly threw an object Sunday which dented a window shutter at 1515 Parkside Place.

A person was arrested Sunday for domestic violence after pushing and shoving a relative at an East Sandusky Street house.

An inebriated person was in custody Sunday after passing out on a bench at E&N Laundry, 515 S. Blanchard St.

A domestic squabble was reported at a Brenda Court dwelling Sunday.

Sheriff's Office

Jewelry was taken during an Oct. 22 burglary at 19074 Biglick Township 174.

Windshields were removed from two skid loaders at Streacker Tractor Sales, West Trenton Avenue, on Oct. 22.

A generator was purloined Oct. 23 from a storage building at the Home Depot construction site off Ohio 613.

Drivers of two ATVs and a dirt bike trespassed Oct. 26 at property at 20756 Hancock County 226, Fostoria.

Medication was missing Oct. 27 from 3414 Ohio 613, McComb.

Money was removed from a vandalized Coke machine at 102 N. Main St., Mount Blanchard, on Friday.

Former renters were accused Saturday of trashing a house at 5923 Hancock County 84.

From the public records of Hancock County Common Pleas Court:

Joel S. Hernandez, 21, of Findlay, was sentenced to 18 months in prison by Judge Joseph Niemeyer on Monday on an assault charge. He had been indicted for felonious assault, a second-degree felony, but pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a fourth-degree felony, as part of a plea agreement. Hernandez threw one or two punches at another man in Findlay on Aug. 21 and the man suffered a broken jaw, according to Assistant County Prosecutor Drew Wortman.

Cedric J. Daniel, 35, of Findlay, was sentenced to 17 months in prison by Judge Niemeyer on Monday after he pleaded guilty to trafficking in cocaine, a fourth-degree felony. He was convicted of selling less than five grams of cocaine within 1,000 feet of Whittier Elementary School in Findlay on June 23.

News Briefs Work scheduled on Findlay streets
Findlay's Main Street, northbound, will be reduced at times to one lane between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for waterline connection.

Main Street will not be accessible from East Lincoln Street. Lincoln Street will be closed to through traffic from South Main Street to South Blanchard Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for continued improvement work. Access to local businesses and residents only will be maintained.


Recount planned in trustee's race
OTTAWA -- After certifying election results on Wednesday, the Putnam County Board of Elections has announced a recount will be required for the Union Township trustee race, according to Deputy Director Shelly Burkhart.

The recount will be completed on Wednesday at the county elections board office, 336 E. Main Street, Ottawa.

Incumbent Daniel R. Ellerbrock has secured his position on the board, earning 685 votes. However the remaining trustee spot will require a recount as Gery P. Wurth earned 598 votes and Mark J. Kahle collected 601 votes, according to official results.

An automatic recount is necessary if the margin is within one-half of 1 percent of total votes cast, according to state law.


Road to be closed
Forest Lake Drive, between Marion Township 237 and Indian Lake Drive/Forest Lane, will be closed today for a pipe installation.

The road is expected to open by 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to use Township 242.
