Boys Basketball: Baker-led Ada holds off Spencerville; Bluffton falls
ADA -- Kyle Baker scored 13 points and Ada held off a rally by Spencerville to earn a 45-44 Northwest Conference boys basketball win Friday night.

The Bulldogs, 15-3 overall and 7-1 in the NWC, went into the fourth quarter ahead 33-31 and escaped with a victory to keep their hopes alive of winning an NWC title. Lima Central Catholic is currently 7-0 in the conference.

Konnor Baker added 12 points for Ada (15-3, 7-1 NWC), which blitzed Spencerville 12-4 in the first quarter.

Zach Bowers scored 15 points to pace the Bearcats (7-12, 4-4).

BLUFFTON 41

BLUFFTON -- Lincolnview held off Bluffton in the fourth quarter and beat the Pirates 43-41 in Northwest Conference action Friday.

Jordan Simpson led the Lancers with 17 points. Ryan Frey added 11 for Lincolnview (7-11, 4-3 NWC).

Tyler Neal and Tyler Breidenbach were the high scorers for Bluffton (8-11, 3-5) with 16 and 14 points respectively.

The difference was at the free throw line where Lincolnview made 4-of-8 in the final quarter and Bluffton only managed to hit 1-of-5.

COLUMBUS GROVE 34

COLUMBUS GROVE -- Lima Central Catholic raced out to a 24-8 lead after the first quarter and held from then on defeating Columbus Grove 50-34 in Northwest Conference action Friday night to clinch at least a share of the NWC title.

Three players reached double figures for the Thunderbirds.

Desi Kirkman led the way with 14 points, Ty O'Connor hit for 11 and Sam Stolly scored 10 for Lima Central Catholic (13-5, 8-0 NWC), respectively.

Luke Kohls scored 12 points Colby Meuleman poured in 11 for the Columbus Grove (9-9, 5-3).

A complete box score was not provided.
