Donnell sweeps JH track crowns

Donnell Middle School's Ben Kupferberg was a three-time winner as the Atoms swept the Findlay Middle School track meet Monday at Donnell Stadium.

Donnell's boys won the meet with 84 points. Central was second with 62 points and Glenwood had 7.

On the girls side, Donnell had 73 points led by double winners Christina McQueen, Katie Rustmeyer and Miranda Price.

Kupferberg picked up his wins in the 100- (12.65) and 200-meter (26.07) dashes and the long jump (16-feet-6). Zach Brown was also a three-time winner as he took the 400 (56.38) and 800 (2:22.3) and joined Paul Cosiano, Sid Hoover and Nick Blackbura on the winning 1,600 relay (4:16.91).

Cosiano captured the 1,600 (5:15.0) and Hoover took the 200 hurdles (30.13).

Rustmeyer and Price each won a pair of individual events for Donnell's girls. Rustmeyer took the 110 hurdles (17.02) and 200 hurdles (33.97), while Price won the 100 (14.16) and 400 (1:06.69). McQueen took the high jump (4-4) and ran a leg of the winning 800 relay (2:02.91).

Central had a triple winner on the girls side as Erin Gwinn took the 1,600 (5:45.0) and 800 (2:41.0) and was a member of the first-place 1,600 relay (4:57.28).

Central's Brittane Burnside captured the long jump (14-3) and 200 (28.68).
