FOSTORIA — Fostoria's Keri Seel was a hero on the mound and at the plate as the Redmen scored a 4-2 Northern Ohio League victory over Upper Sandusky.
Seel blasted a 2-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to snap a 2-2 tie. Aja Hall also belted a 2-run homer for the Redmen (13-6 overall, 6-1 NOL). Seel allowed just 2 runs on 4 hits to collect the victory.
— Elyse Marshall and Abby Dean each had a double and both drove in 2 runs as Liberty-Benton improved to 5-1 in Blanchard Valley Conference softball play with a 10-2 win over Cory-Rawson. Larissa Lugo added a triple an a single for the Eagles.
— Arlington stayed in the hunt for the Blanchard Valley Conference title by blanking McComb 14-0. Hillary Hartman allowed just one hit to get the win in the 5-inning shutout. Scarbrough homered and singled driving in 4 runs and Rettig added a pair of singles and 2 RBI for the Red Devils (9-7 overall, 5-1 BVC).
— Brittany Dauterman fired a 2-hit shutout to power unbeaten Elmwood to a 3-0 Suburban Lakes League win over Lake. Dauterman (13-0) struck out 15 and walked none as the Royals improved to 16-0 overall and 6-0 in the league. Kelsey Feasel smashed an RBI double to lead Elmwood at the plate.
— Fostoria St. Wendelin kept pace with Midland Athletic League leaders Mohawk and Carey by slugging Seneca East 11-2. Chelcie Rutter got the win for the Mohawks as she allowed just 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 11. She helped her own cause with 3 singles and 2 RBI as the Mohawks improved to 13-4 overall and 5-1 in the MAL.
— Tresa Escamilla tripled and doubled to lead Ottawa-Glandorf to a 9-6 non-conference win over Liberty Center.
