Fremont Ross managed just one hit off Findlay ace Maggie Gilliland Tuesday.
But that one hit was all the Little Giants needed to nip the Trojans, 2-1, in Greater Buckeye Conference action at Lady Trojan Field.
Fremont's Carey Clark followed a leadoff walk with a one-out blast over the left-centerfield fence in the bottom of the sixth inning to keep Findlay, 5-5 overall, winless in GBC play at 0-2.
"She's their clean-up hitter and she hurt us last year," said Findlay High coach Tim Babcock. "We were well aware of her."
Gilliland (3-4) struck out 14 and walked 3.
Findlay took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Gilliland tripled and Jayme Rinesmith followed with one of her two base hits.
Findlay got the tying and winning runs to second and third in the last of the seventh inning on Rinesmith's second hit and an error. Fremont's Jordyn Gallagher nailed down the win, though, with a game-ending strikeout.
Findlay now hits the road for a rugged stretch of games. The Trojans face Perrysburg Thursday, Marion Harding Friday and Lima Bath and Archbold Saturday in a doubleheader at Bath.
